Atorvastatin Calcium Instructions

Atorvastatin calcium tablets, a lipid-lowering drug, can be used clinically for the treatment of hyperlipidemia, especially for the treatment of pure and heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, for diabetic dyslipidemia or as primary and secondary prevention of coronary heart disease. It is mainly divided into 10mg/tablet and 20mg/tablet. Patients are advised to start taking 10mg/d and the maximum dose should not exceed 80mg/d. However, according to current studies, it is recommended that the maximum dose should not exceed 40mg/d, which is safer for Chinese people. It is generally recommended that patients can take 20mg/d, as some studies have shown that taking 20mg a day is basically enough to get the lipids under control. During the course of atorvastatin, some patients may experience elevated liver transaminases and rhabdomyolysis or muscle damage.
