What are ground glass nodular foci?

Milled glass nodular foci are usually a lung lesion, which may be a manifestation of chronic inflammation, fibrosis or hypofractionated changes in the lung tissue.
1. Chronic inflammation: Repeated bacterial infections in the lung tissue may cause localized chronic inflammation, resulting in tissue hyperplasia and the formation of ground-glass nodules with blurred edges.
2. Fibrosis: due to inhalation of a large amount of dust, may lead to the occurrence of lung tissue fibrosis, a large number of fibers in the lung tissue deposition, will also form ground-glass nodule foci.
3. Hypofractionated changes: the appearance of frosted glass nodule foci is also seen when the lung tissue undergoes hypofractionated changes, in which the local tissue may undergo malignant changes and form lung cancer in later stages.
If you find ground-glass nodules, we suggest you to consult a regular hospital in time and have regular review or treatment under the guidance of doctor.
