Rabies vaccination should be administered to persons suspected of having been exposed to the rabies virus and persons at high risk of exposure to the virus. 1. People suspected to be in contact with rabies virus: rabies virus is mainly invaded into human body through direct scratching and biting by sick animals and from skin breaks, and it can also be infected by wounds and mucous membranes contaminated by rabies virus, and it is occasionally spread by eating meat infected with rabies and contacting fur, blood, milk and urine of sick animals. Therefore, all people suspected of contacting rabies virus should be vaccinated against rabies. 2. High-risk personnel: For high-risk personnel in rabies-infected areas, or slaughtering personnel, animal husbandry personnel, animal breeding management personnel, medical personnel treating rabid people, vaccine manufacturing personnel and other staff with exposure to the virus, rabies vaccination can be prevented before exposure. Therefore, it is recommended that the above persons receive timely rabies vaccination to prevent rabies.
