Acupuncture Points for Laxatives

The need to pass stool is usually due to the symptoms of constipation, which is mainly caused by the malfunction of the conduction of the large intestine, and can be classified into gastrointestinal dryness and heat, stagnation of qi, qi and blood deficiency, and yin and cold stagnation, etc. The symptoms can be improved mainly by pushing the middle epigastric, Tianshu, and Daxiang points, moistening the abdomen, and rubbing the kidney, large intestine, and Bareshi points.
The basic treatment for constipation is to lie in the supine position and push the middle epigastric, Tianshu and Daxiang points with the one-finger Zen push method; then use the palm massage method to massage the abdomen in a clockwise direction, so as to make the heat penetrate into the abdomen and enhance the peristalsis of the intestines and stomach. Or take the prone position, and treat with one-finger Zen pushing method along both sides of the spine from the Liver Yu and Spleen Yu to the Baxiao point; then press and knead the Kidney Yu, the Large Intestine Yu, the Baxiao and the Changqiang points. Specific subcategories of treatment are as follows:
1. Dry heat in the stomach and intestines: the treatment should be diarrhea and heat-inducing, moistening the intestines and laxative, and may be based on the basic treatment with the addition of kneading and pressing the Da Shi, Qu Chi, He Gu and Zhi Gou acupoints, to the extent of acidity and distension.

Acupressure can have a laxative effect to a certain extent, but if constipation is severe, it is necessary to consult a doctor and follow the doctor’s instructions. Acupressure should be operated by a physician, do not operate on your own, so as not to cause damage to the organism.
