Biological treatment of psoriasis

With the continuous research on psoriasis, new drugs have been introduced in recent years for the treatment of psoriasis, the fastest developing being biologics, followed by small molecule drugs. Biologics are characterized by their targeted nature, clearly targeting one of the cells and inflammatory mediators that mediate the development of psoriasis, such as IL-12/IL-23 (ustekinumab), which inhibits the activation of T lymphocytes, and drugs that antagonize TNF (classical gram, Iscariot, Xumel). These biologics are effective in treating the lesions of plaque psoriasis and in treating joint inflammation and deformities in psoriatic arthritis and have been used abroad for more than 10 years, and are being introduced and developed independently in our country. We are currently conducting a national multicenter clinical trial of Xumelan for the treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis. Participants can receive treatment free of charge, as the high cost of such drugs limits their application. As drugs are developed and progress, more and more drugs and low prices will become available to benefit psoriasis patients.
