Do deformed eyes recover when you don’t wear glasses?

The cause of eyeball deformity is not very much related to wearing glasses, it is due to the growth of myopia, which leads to eyeball growth, so the deformed eyeball usually does not recover by itself without wearing glasses after eyeball deformity. There are two directions of eyeball lengthening, either forward protrusion, i.e., the eyeball is seen to protrude, or backward protrusion, which is diagnosed as posterior scleral staphyloma during ophthalmologic examination. Both are more common in clinical practice. Whether the eye is protruding forward or backward varies from person to person, but whether the eyeball is deformed forward or backward has nothing to do with wearing glasses or not. Without glasses, the prescription increases rapidly, i.e., the probability of the eyeball elongating and deforming is greater than with glasses. Active wearing of glasses can slow down the development of myopia. If the eyes are deformed, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for treatment of the cause.
