Phagocytes are not lymphocytes, and in the process of hematopoietic cell differentiation, phagocytes and lymphocytes have different sources of differentiation. 1. Phagocytes refer to a class of cells with phagocytic function in the human body, including monocyte macrophages and neutrophils. Phagocytes are differentiated from myeloid progenitor cells. Macrophages play an important role in the process of specific immune response related to immunity, such as antigen presentation; neutrophils play an important role in the body’s immune defense and anti-inflammatory injury. 2. Lymphocytes are differentiated from lymphoid hematopoietic progenitor cells. Lymphocytes are categorized as B-lymphocytes, T-lymphocytes, and natural killer cells (NK cells). Different lymphocytes have different developmental sites, morphology and functions, and all of them are involved in the body’s immune response. Consult your hematologist for more information.
