Pseudomyopia refers to the persistent contraction of the ciliary muscle due to over-exertion of the eye, etc., which in turn causes accommodation spasm, resulting in a corresponding increase in the refractive power of the lens and a myopic state of the eye. It is characterized by blurred vision at a distance and clear vision at a near distance, and may be accompanied by typical symptoms of visual fatigue, such as eye distension and dizziness. Because pseudomyopia can be relieved by rest, the degree of blurriness at a distance is unstable in pseudomyopia. Pseudomyopia can often be intervened with eye relaxation, topical eye drops to dilate the pupils, etc., and does not require glasses to correct vision. It is advisable to consult a doctor to determine the cause of nearsightedness and to follow the doctor’s instructions when blurred vision occurs.
