The ear temperature is a thermometer specifically designed to measure the temperature of the tympanic membrane, which is normally around 35.8-37.7°C under normal conditions. There are three traditional clinical temperature measurement methods: oral temperature, axillary temperature and anal temperature. The normal oral temperature is between 36.5-37.5°C, the axillary temperature is between 36-37°C, and the anal temperature is between 36.5-37.7°C. Through these data above, we can see that the difference between ear and axillary temperature is not very large. If the temperature difference is large when measuring, it is recommended to measure more times, because if the method used is not standard enough, the temperature difference may be obvious a little, so it is recommended to use the correct measurement method when measuring body temperature.
