Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum with Liu Fu Nu has the effect of tonifying the liver and kidney, astringent (astringent consolidation), dispersing blood stasis and relieving pain, breaking blood stasis and promoting menstruation (breaking blood stasis and usually meridians).
Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum, or Cornus Officinalis, is used for treating soreness and weakness of the waist and knees, dizziness and tinnitus, impotence, spermatorrhea and seminal emission, dysuria and frequent urination, disintegration and leakage (excessive menstrual flow or spotting and dripping), menstrual flow, and profuse sweating. It is forbidden to take it for patients who have dampness-heat, urinary dripping and astringency.
Liu Shun Nu is mainly used for bruises, stagnation, swelling and pain, traumatic bleeding, blood stasis and menstrual occlusion (menstrual occlusion caused by stagnation of blood and blood stasis), post-partum stagnation and abdominal pain, and food stagnation (accumulation of indigested food in the stomach) and abdominal pain. Pregnant women are advised to use with caution.
