There are two main types of arthroscopic meniscus surgery: First, arthroscopic partial meniscectomy, or meniscoplasty, which refers to removing the damaged part of the meniscus and then trimming the edges smooth, preserving the remaining stable meniscus edges, which are shaped similar to normal meniscus tissue. Second, meniscus suture surgery, which has certain indications, mainly for some small longitudinal tears in the red zone, to achieve the role of preserving the meniscus by suturing, mainly for young patients.
