Comprehensive treatment of diabetes: is blood sugar up to standard?

1.The latest data show that the prevalence of diabetes among adults aged 18 and above in China is 11.6%, and only 25.8% of diabetic patients receive treatment, of which only 39.7% meet the blood glucose control standard. 2.The standard of blood sugar is fasting blood sugar, 2 hours after meal blood sugar and glycosylated hemoglobin. Among them, glycosylated hemoglobin reflects the average level of blood glucose in the last 3 months, which is the key indicator to measure the standard. 3. For most non-pregnant adults, a reasonable control target for glycated hemoglobin is <7.0%; 4. For those with short duration of diabetes, long life expectancy and no significant, glycated hemoglobin can be controlled <6.5% in the absence of significant hypoglycemia or other adverse reactions; 5. For those with a history of severe hypoglycemia, limited life expectancy, significant small- or large-vessel complications, or severe comorbidities A more lenient glycated hemoglobin target (e.g., <8%) may be more appropriate; 6. Achieving glycemic control will substantially reduce acute and chronic complications of diabetes.
