Five Fingers Peach and Poria cocos (Poria cocos)

Five-fingered hairy peach is a traditional Chinese medicine in Lingnan area, which is the dried root of Ficus carica, family Moraceae, with sweet taste and flat nature, and its effects are strengthening the spleen and tonifying the lungs, promoting circulation of qi, inducing dampness, relaxing the tendons and activating the collaterals, and it is often used in the treatment of swollen spleen, rheumatism and paralysis, postpartum milklessness, poor appetite and weakness, and consumptive coughing. 2. Poria cocos is a heat-clearing and detoxifying (removing heat and toxicity from the body) medicine, which is the dried rhizome of Sarsaparilla glabra of the lily family, sweet, light, neutral, attributed to the liver, stomach meridian, efficacy of the joints, detoxification, and removing dampness, commonly used in limb contracture, carbuncle, swelling, sores and poisoning, gonorrhea and leucorrhoea (cloudy urine and leukorrhoea), eczema, itching, etc. It is important to note that Poria cocos is not suitable for liver deficiency and swelling.
