Children’s bedwetting generally refers to enuresis (children over 5 years of age can not urinate on their own during sleep at night), which can be attributed to the Chinese medicine “drowning” category, mostly related to the lack of kidney qi, bladder deficiency and cold, usually can be selected bladder yu, renal yu, zhongji and other acupoints for moxibustion, the specific effects of the patient’s condition and physical related, not generalized.
1. Bladder Yu: located in the sacral region, transverse flat 2nd post-sacral foramen, 1.5 inches beside the middle sacral ridge; moxibustion of this point has the bladder, strong lumbar spine and other effects, can treat enuresis, but also to treat dysuria (dysuria), diarrhea, constipation, lumbar spine and other strong pain and other diseases.
2. Kidney Yu: located in the spinal region, the 2nd lumbar vertebra under the spinous process, 1.5 inches away from the center line; moxibustion of this point can replenish the kidney qi, can be used for kidney deficiency caused by enuresis, tinnitus, deafness, dizziness, lumbago, spermatorrhea, impotence, premature ejaculation, sterility, irregular menstruation, bring down, infertility, thirst (drinking, eating, urination, fatigue, emaciation, or urine has a sweet taste) and other diseases.
3. Zhongji: located in the lower abdomen, 4 inches below the umbilicus, on the anterior midline; moxibustion of this point has the effect of tonifying the kidney qi, benefit the bladder, etc., can be used to treat enuresis, urinary retention (urinary drip or urine), spermatorrhea, impotence, infertility, menstrual disorders, menstrual leakage (menstrual flow is too much or more than a drip), yinjiao (women with uterine prolapse or even out of the vaginal opening) and other diseases.
It should be noted that moxibustion is warm in nature, and should not be used by children with hot and damp-heat constitution. Moxibustion should be operated under the guidance of a professional Chinese doctor, and should not be attempted blindly on one’s own.
