Formulas for activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis (promoting blood circulation and eliminating blood stasis in the body) include Hemofoo Chasing Blood Stasis Soup, Peach Red Four Substance Soup, and Tonic Yang Returning Five Soup. Follow your doctor’s instructions for specific medications.
1. Hematophagus and Blood Stasis Relieving Tang: composed of peach kernel, safflower, angelica sinensis, chuanxiong, red peony and other medicines, it has the effects of activating blood circulation, removing blood stasis, promoting qi circulation and relieving pain (relieving pain by regulating the qi mechanism of the human body). It is mainly used in treating the syndrome of blood stasis in the chest. This formula is not recommended for pregnant women.
2. Tao Hong Si Wu Tang: composed of peach kernel, safflower, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Radix Angelicae Sinensis and Radix Paeoniae Alba, with the effects of activating blood circulation, removing blood stasis, regulating menstruation and relieving pain (regulating menstruation and relieving menstrual pain). It is mainly used in treating women with early menstruation, profuse and lumpy blood, purple color and sticky texture, dysmenorrhea and other conditions. The adverse effects and contraindications of this formula are not clear.
3. Yang Replenishing Five Soup: It is composed of Astragalus, Angelica sinensis, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Dilong and other medicines, with the effects of tonifying qi, invigorating blood, and clearing collaterals. It is mainly used for the treatment of hemiplegia (one side of the limbs can not move freely), crooked mouth and eyes, unfavorable speech, salivation at the corner of the mouth (drooling), frequent urination or enuresis and other conditions.
Note that if post-stroke hemiplegia is due to yin deficiency and hyperactivity of yang (deficiency of yin fluid and hyperactivity of yang), or phlegm obstruction and blood stasis, it is not advisable to use Yang Repairing Tang.
