Does male nipple reduction require hospitalization

After male nipple reduction, hospitalization is required for observation, usually for about seven days. Under normal circumstances, male nipple and breast ratio is of moderate size, if male nipple is too long and too thick, it can be considered as enlarged nipple, which will affect the aesthetics; the image of nipple can be improved by nipple reduction surgery, which can be performed with local anesthesia or general anesthesia, and after that the excess nipple tissues are excised, to achieve the effect of shortening the length and width of nipple. In the first three days after the surgery, there will be severe swelling, redness and pain in the nipple area; four to six days will be the rapid swelling period, and the seventh day is usually the day of removing the stitches; therefore, men need to stay in the hospital for seven days, and can only leave the hospital after the stitches are removed. In summary, after nipple reduction surgery, men need to be hospitalized, and if they have any discomfort during the period, they need to inform the doctor in time to deal with it.
