(Post-extraction precautions (for blocked wisdom teeth)

The following few notes are the summaries of many of my predecessors in the course of my studies and work, plus some of my own little experience, and I try to explain to you in big words what aspects of post-operative tooth extraction need to be paid attention to. I would also like to thank all my dental friends and my colleagues and classmates. Your recognition, criticism and efforts are all great motivation for me to move forward, even though post-operative complications cannot be completely eliminated, I will treat each tooth seriously. Precautions after tooth extraction, important: 1. There will be more saliva in the mouth after tooth extraction, do not spit, it may spit out the blood clot on the wound and cause the wound to fail to stop bleeding, and any saliva can be swallowed in time. It is normal for the saliva to be a little red and bloody within three days, so don’t panic. 2, after the removal of the wisdom teeth can be oral amoxicillin or cephalosporin and other antibiotics for three days (penicillin allergy can be oral azithromycin and other drugs that you are sure not allergic to), painkillers for one to three days (ibuprofen extended-release capsules or swelling pain an, etc.). At the same time, you can use cold water (about 5-10 degrees, do not use ice to prevent frostbite) to apply cold compresses on the operation area for the first three days. For every 15 minutes of cold compresses, you need to rest for more than 15 minutes. The correct cold compress helps to reduce post-operative swelling, bleeding and pain. 3. Do not brush and rinse your mouth within 24 hours after tooth extraction, and after 24 hours, you can rinse your mouth with cool water, brush your teeth in the morning and evening to keep the wound clean, and pay attention to protect the wound when brushing. 4. 2 hours after tooth extraction, you can eat and drink, the diet should be light, warm and soft, avoid smoking and alcohol within a week, do not eat spicy and stimulating, overheated and hard food, at the same time, ensure enough nutrition, eat more meat, eggs, milk and other protein-rich food appropriately. After surgery, pay attention to rest, avoid staying up late and fatigue, no strenuous exercise for the first three days, do not wash your face, hair or bath with overheated water for one week, and remove the stitches after one week (if the wound is filled with iodoform gauze, please follow up and remove it at the time requested by the doctor). 5. If there is uncontrollable bleeding, you can come to our emergency department at any time. If you still have persistent and severe pain or severe odor or overflow of pus in the mouth more than three days after tooth extraction, please come to the hospital for follow-up consultation in time.
