For malignant tumors that occur in the breast, massage is contraindicated.
A general physical examination requires the examiner’s fingers to touch the lump in a gentle gliding motion to prevent the spread of cancer cells due to excessive squeezing. There is a possibility that a lay massage practitioner who squeezes severely could contribute to the spread of tumor cells.
For common breast diseases, massage does not help at all, and in the case of breast cancer, it also accelerates blood circulation, making more nutrients available to cancer cells and causing them to spread.
