There are several common causes of soreness, swelling and pain in the groin in female patients. First, the formation of inguinal hernia, female patients with inguinal hernia will cause the intestinal omentum in the abdominal cavity to protrude from the abdominal wall defect in the groin area outside the body, which will cause soreness and pain in the groin area. Patients can clarify the size of the inguinal defect through ultrasound examination, and perform surgery to repair the inguinal defect as soon as possible. Intraoperative implantation of a hernia patch can effectively avoid recurrent attacks of hernia, thus reducing the soreness and pain in the inguinal region. Second, female patients with uterine ligament cysts may also cause soreness, swelling and pain in the inguinal region, and larger uterine ligament cysts may be palpable masses on the body surface and may even affect the patient’s joint activities. Patients are advised to undergo surgical excision of the round ligament cysts, which can reduce the discomfort in the groin area.
