Whitehead acne, also known as closed acne, may be related to excessive secretion of androgens or female physiological cycle, in addition to some internal diseases can also lead to the appearance of whitehead acne.
1. Excessive secretion of androgens: If the patient has excessive secretion of androgens, especially in adolescent men and women, androgens can directly stimulate the sebaceous glands to increase, promote the keratinization of hair follicles, clogging the pores to cause inflammation, resulting in the production of acne.
2. Cycle changes: the appearance of whiteheads and acne may have a certain relationship with the female physiological cycle, some women in the menstrual period before the acne intensified. It is mainly related to the change of hormone secretion.
3. Internal diseases: Patients with internal diseases, such as liver, kidney, stomach and other organ diseases, may lead to constipation, or gastrointestinal dysfunction, which may induce whiteheads acne.
There may be other reasons for whiteheads, so we recommend that patients go to the hospital in time for a relevant examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
