What is the cause of lower left abdominal pain?

There are many causes of lower left abdominal pain. If acute abdominal pain occurs within seconds or minutes, it may be due to sudden injury to an organ, such as mesenteric embolism, ureteral stones, ruptured or twisted ovarian cysts, ectopic pregnancy, intestinal obstruction, etc. Chronic lower left abdominal pain can be due to chronic intestinal obstruction, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, left abdominal tumours and tumour invasion. Sometimes some lifestyles such as high pressure may also cause abdominal pain. As sudden onset of lower left abdominal pain may be a critical condition, prompt medical attention is recommended to avoid delay.
