Pain in the bend of the right arm is commonly caused by the following: First, in most cases of elderly patients with degenerative osteoarthritis and synovitis, the patient will present with elbow joint pain, restricted movement, and friction sounds that can easily be heard during flexion and extension activities, and even joint stiffness. An MRI can reveal proliferative bone fragments and severe degeneration of the articular surface cartilage. Second, younger patients may have localized injuries, such as soft tissue injuries and fractures, all of which can cause pain, swelling, limited movement, and loss of normal motor function in the elbow joint. MRI can show damage to ligaments and joint capsule, while X-rays will show structural problems such as fractures. Therefore, patients presenting with significant pain in the elbow joint need accurate diagnosis and treatment.
