Treatment of mumps is mainly pharmacologic and surgical, and some literature suggests that physiotherapy, such as ultrashort-wave physiotherapy, is effective in treating the disease. 1. Physical therapy: For acute suppurative parotitis, on the basis of anti-infective medication, localized ultrashort wave physiotherapy should be performed; if the condition cannot be controlled, surgery or other surgical interventions are needed. 2. Surgical intervention: for conservative treatment of symptoms continue to worsen, should be timely incision and drainage; for chronic obstructive parotitis drug treatment is not effective, feasible salivary gland endoscopic intervention, parotid gland lobectomy and other treatments. 3. Drug treatment: for headache and parotid swelling and pain, analgesics such as celecoxib can be used; for viral infections caused by mumps, drugs such as ribavirin can be used for antiviral treatment; for the complication of meningitis, myocarditis and other serious infections, hormones such as dexamethasone can be used; for intracranial infections resulting in headache, vomiting and other drugs such as mannitol can be used to treat the disease. The above drugs need to be used under the guidance of the clinician, unauthorized use of drugs is prohibited; suspected mumps, promptly go to the hospital.
