To effectively overcome the problem of tension and gagging, patients can use self-adjustment, distraction, psychotherapy and other methods, as follows: First, self-adjustment: let yourself relax properly, such as using the method of breathing relaxation training, or muscle relaxation training to make yourself quiet, such as taking several deep breaths to shift your attention to breathing, or going to watch TV or movies, so that own attention from the tension, to relieve tension, anxiety emotional problems. Second, shift your attention: you can’t be overly concerned about your nervousness or gagging performance, nor can you suspect that others are paying attention to you or fearing that you will make a fool of yourself because you are gagging. If you always focus on your own nervousness, anxiety, always repeatedly think that you are gagging, will continue to strengthen a distorted belief, and eventually anxiety, nervousness more and more serious, the symptoms of salivation more and more frequent and obvious. Third, psychotherapy: For serious tension and salivation problems, patients can consider psychotherapy, recommended cognitive behavioral therapy or psychoanalytic therapy.
