There are two treatments for the elderly after lumbar spine fracture: First, if the compression degree of lumbar spine fracture in the elderly is relatively mild, not more than one-third of the height of the vertebral body or only fracture of lumbar vertebral appendages, such as sphenoidal and transverse process fracture. In the above cases, only strict conservative treatment is needed, bed rest for about two months, with bone grafting and calcium treatment can achieve clinical healing. Secondly, if the compression level of lumbar spine fracture is more than one-third, and there may be nerve damage and secondary spinal stenosis, then surgical treatment is needed. Surgical treatment is divided into two types, the first is vertebroplasty, and the second is open surgery for internal fixation of the fracture with incision and repositioning of the pedicle root nails.
