What to do about itchy ears

The first thing you need to know about the cause of ear itching is that it is one of the main symptoms of external ear canal skin disease. This condition is one of the common symptoms in otolaryngology and is most often seen in external ear eczema, external ear mycobacteria, acute and chronic otitis externa, etc. All these diseases require comprehensive treatment. Itchy ears first avoid water in the ear canal and keep the outer ear canal dry and clean. Do not pick or pull out your ears without permission, and avoid spicy and irritating diets. If you have itchy ears with running water, consider acute or chronic otitis externa, which is usually treated with lomefloxacin ear drops or ofloxacin ear drops, and you need to store the solution away from light. If there is obvious local oozing and crusting, external ear eczema is considered, and some glucocorticoid ointment should be applied locally, and if there is more oozing, additional stove glycolic lotion should be applied. In contrast, if there is only itching in the external ear canal, it may be an external ear canal mycobacterial infection, and in some patients it is related to unclean ear picking, and treatment requires ear drops treated with salicylic acid alcohol drops. So ear itching treatment is different and varies from person to person. The cause should first be clarified and then treated according to the situation. It is recommended to visit the ENT department of a secondary or higher hospital in a timely manner to check the condition of the external ear canal and then treat it. Most of them require anti-infection as well as local symptomatic treatment.
