The odor of women’s urine is very likely to be caused by urinary tract infections, urinary retention, diabetes and other causes.
1. Urinary tract infection: pathogens causing urinary tract infection may include bacteria, mycoplasma, chlamydia, viruses and so on. The stimulation of inflammation appears mucosal redness, swelling, erosion, microorganisms and inflammatory secretions make the patient’s urine produce a foul smell.
2. Urinary retention: it refers to the urine in the bladder and can not be discharged, often caused by the development of urinary difficulties to a certain extent. The patient can urinate, but cannot completely empty all the urine in the bladder, resulting in a large amount of residual urine in the bladder. Bacteria multiply in the residual urine, and the decomposition of urea produces ammonia, which can have an unpleasant odor.
3. Diabetes mellitus: a group of disorders of carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism caused by absolute or relative insufficiency of insulin secretion and/or impaired utilization of insulin. The urine of diabetic patients contains a large amount of sugar, and urine also often gives off a fishy-sweet odor.
If blood sugar control is not ideal, diabetic ketoacidosis occurs, a large number of ketone bodies produced, accumulation of hyperketonemia and ketonuria, urine will appear rotten apple flavor.
Female urine odor can also be seen in kidney disease, irritating diet and other reasons, if you exclude physiological factors, it is recommended that patients go to the hospital in a timely manner, follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, to avoid delay.
