If the eyelid is still swollen one month after the surgery, there may be infection and anti-inflammatory medicine is needed.
After double eyelid cutting, due to local tissue damage, there will be edema and mild pain after surgery, which is a normal clinical manifestation, but the symptoms of swelling usually disappear in about 1 month. If the swelling is still present after 1 month, along with redness and pain, a bacterial infection may be present.
If bacterial infection is confirmed, topical antibacterial and anti-inflammatory eye drops, such as levofloxacin eye drops, and anti-inflammatory medications, such as azithromycin and ciprofloxacin, should be used to prevent the infection from worsening, and personal care should be taken to keep the affected area clean and to avoid excessive squeezing and scratching.
During the treatment period, it is necessary to follow the doctor’s instructions to use reasonable medication to avoid aggravation of the lesions.
