AIDS is an infectious disease caused by infection with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), which can attack the body’s immune system. In the late stage of AIDS, it is mainly manifested by various opportunistic infections (often involving the respiratory system, digestive system, skin system, central nervous system, and may also be accompanied by systemic symptoms), and is prone to cause malignant tumors.
1. Respiratory system symptoms: it can lead to coughing and other symptoms, and also lead to bacterial pneumonia, Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia and other diseases.
2. Digestive system symptoms: mainly vomiting, loss of appetite, indigestion, enteritis and other symptoms.
3. Skin system symptoms: herpes, ulceration and other symptoms of opportunistic infections in the genitals, lips, skin surface and other parts of the body.
4. Central nervous system symptoms: memory loss, headache, epilepsy, dementia and other symptoms may occur in some patients.
5. Systemic symptoms: weight loss, irregular fever lasting more than one month (temperature >38°C), diarrhea (stools >3 times/day), night sweats, continuous widespread generalized lymph node enlargement, and other symptoms of opportunistic infections.
6. Tumor: AIDS will violate the immune function of the human body, leading to a decrease in the body’s immune ability and increasing the risk of other diseases, such as tumors. Clinically, the most common is Kaposi’s sarcoma, which manifests itself in the appearance of skin plaques, nodules or papules and other symptoms.
It is recommended that AIDS should visit the hospital in time and cooperate with the doctor’s treatment in order to help prolong the survival cycle and improve the quality of life.
