What to do about itching below

Vaginal itching is a common symptom of vaginitis in women. The general treatment requires eliminating susceptibility factors, keeping the vulva clean and dry, avoiding scratching, not eating spicy and stimulating foods, changing underwear regularly, washing with warm water, and not mixing with other clothes to avoid cross infection. Normal vagina is self-cleaning with a pH value of 3.7-4.5. Using a weak acid formula of feminine care solution during the treatment period will inhibit vaginitis. It is important to keep the vulva dry during the day. In terms of medication, for trichomoniasis, systemic medication with metronidazole should be emphasized because trichomonas is present in the folds and glands of the cervix, and may also be present in the urethra and intestines. Candida vaginitis can be treated by washing the vulva with 2-3% soda solution, placing mycobacterial suppositories, miconazole suppositories or clotrimazole suppositories, and also by oral administration of anti-Candida drugs. The drug of choice for bacterial vaginitis is metronidazole taken orally, or topical medication can be placed in the vagina. Aging vaginitis can be treated with topical medication in the vagina or with lactobacillus, weak acidic lotions or suppositories for vaginal application, and estrogen preparations for more severe inflammation.
