How thalamic gliomas are caused

Thalamic glioma, like gliomas in other parts of the brain, has an etiology that has not been completely cleared, and may be related to genetic factors, environmental factors, infectious factors, and other factors.
1. Genetic factors: some known genetic diseases, such as neurofibromatosis (type I) and tuberous sclerosis, are genetic susceptibility factors for glioma.
2. Environmental factors: These include prolonged exposure to ionizing radiation in the surrounding environment, and exposure to chemical or hazardous substances, all of which may cause thalamic gliomas.
3. Viral infections, such as cytomegalovirus, can also attack neuronal cells in the skull, which may lead to the development of thalamic glioma.
Once thalamic glioma is detected by examination, it is recommended that the patient should go to the hospital in time and take active treatment under the doctor’s guidance, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
