The Stomach and Spleen points are found bilaterally, one on the right and one on the left, two in total, and both are part of the Foot Solar Bladder Meridian. They are mainly used to treat spleen and stomach disorders.
The Stomach Yu point is located on the back, below the spinous process of the 12th thoracic vertebra, 1.5 inches to the side of the posterior midline. Its main function is to warm the center and harmonize the stomach, lowering the rebelliousness and stopping vomiting (stopping the upward rush of stomach qi and stopping vomiting). It can be used to treat symptoms such as vomiting, stomach pain and bloating.
Spleen Yu point is on the back, below the spinous process of the 11th thoracic vertebra, 1.5 inches off the posterior midline. Its main effects are to harmonize the stomach and strengthen the spleen, and to promote clearing of dampness. Acupuncture of this point can be used to treat vomiting, diarrhea and other spleen and stomach disorders.
Acupuncture needs to be performed by a regular practitioner, please do not blindly needle the point on your own to avoid injury. If you feel unwell, it is recommended that you go to the hospital in a timely manner.
