What’s wrong with a child’s frequent blinking?

There are many reasons for children’s frequent blinking, which can be categorized into physiological and pathological reasons, physiological reasons include visual fatigue, etc., and pathological reasons include eye diseases and mental disorders.

1. Physiological: If children often look at electronic products and read books for a long time, it may lead to visual fatigue and frequent blinking, which can be relieved after resting. If adults have the habit of blinking frequently, children may also be curious to imitate and blink frequently. All of the above are normal physiological phenomena and do not require special treatment.

2. Pathologic: Some eye diseases may cause frequent blinking, such as conjunctivitis, keratitis and congenital entropion. Mental disorders such as Tourette’s syndrome can also cause frequent blinking.

If you suspect that your child’s frequent blinking is pathologic, you should go to the hospital and follow the doctor’s instructions.
