Itchy skin but the skin is not abnormal may be pruritus, there are many causes, common causes include systemic diseases, dry skin, neuropsychiatric factors.
1. Systemic diseases: such as gallbladder cancer, pancreatic tumor, cutaneous lymphoma, chronic hepatitis, cholecystitis, jaundice and other diseases, often itchy skin symptoms; in addition, patients with diabetes mellitus, due to the long-term high blood sugar, prone to peripheral neuropathy, itchy skin symptoms can occur, and some patients may experience loss of sensation phenomenon.
2. Dry skin; such as the elderly skin aging, sebum secretion can cause dry skin; frequent bathing, or bathing water temperature is too high, or the use of alkaline soap, can lead to dry skin; air is too dry, the skin loses too much water, can also cause dry skin. Patients with dry skin usually have itchy skin, but no skin abnormalities.
3. Neuropsychiatric factors: mental tension, depression or anxiety can lead to generalized or limited itching of the skin; in addition, some patients with neurosis have some kind of hallucination, such as fantasizing that there are worms in the skin and thus feel itchy skin.
