Efficacy of Rizatriptan Benzoate Tablets

Rizatriptan Benzoate Tablet is mainly used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults and children aged 6 to 17 years. If a patient has a very severe migraine attack, he or she can be treated with this medication under the supervision of a doctor. Rizatriptan exerts its therapeutic effect on migraine by agonizing dilated extracerebral and intracranial blood vessels as well as 5-HT1B/1 D on trigeminal nerve endings during migraine attacks causing intracranial vasoconstriction and inhibiting the release and transmission of neuropeptides in the trigeminal pain pathway. Adverse reactions to rizatriptan benzoate tablets include chills, sensitivity to heat, bloating, syncope, and edema and facial puffiness. This product is contraindicated in patients with ischemic heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, localized ischemic bowel disease, and uncontrolled hypertension to prevent discomfort. This product is not recommended for patients under the age of 18 years. The drug is prescribed and should be used in strict compliance with the doctor’s instructions. It is also important to note that the drug is only indicated for acute attacks of migraine and does not prevent migraine attacks.
