Treatment of schizophrenia can be divided into several stages

Schizophrenia can be divided into three stages: acute stage, consolidation stage and maintenance stage. 1. Acute phase: the condition is manifested, and for patients with the first onset or relapse, the diagnosis is clarified first, and then medication is administered according to the condition, ensuring the principle of adequate dosage, individualization, and single dosage. Electroconvulsive therapy can be supplemented under appropriate circumstances. 2. Consolidation period: the condition is stabilized and there is no obvious tendency of morbidity, which needs to be consolidated for half a year, and the dosage is slightly reduced compared with that of the acute period. 3. Maintenance period: the dosage is reduced to two thirds of the acute stage, maintained for two years, with the purpose of preventing relapse.
