Chinese herbal formulas for regulating the accumulation of cold and dampness, weakness of spleen qi (weak spleen qi) and internalized dampness-heat include Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang, Si Jun Zi Tang and Long Guo Diarrhea Liver Tang.
1. Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang: It has the effects of warming yang and resolving phlegm (warming yang qi in the body to promote the metabolism of water and fluid), strengthening the spleen and inducing dampness. It is mainly used to treat phlegm-drinking (pathological products formed as a result of impaired water-liquid metabolism) in the case of deficiency of yang in the center of the body. Symptoms include fullness in the chest and ribs, dizziness and palpitation, shortness of breath and cough, and white slippery fur on the tongue. This formula is not suitable for those who cough with sticky phlegm due to heat from drinking.
2. Sijunzi Tang: Treats deficiency of spleen and stomach qi. Symptoms include pale complexion, low voice, shortness of breath, loose stools (thin and unformed feces), and so on.
3. Longdian Diarrhea Liver Tang: treating the symptoms of inflammation of liver and gallbladder, such as headache and redness of eyes and eyes, dystocia (pain in the area of coeruleus and ribs), bitterness in mouth, deafness and swelling of ears, etc.; and the symptoms of dampness and heat infiltration of liver meridian (the invasion of dampness and heat into the intestinal tract, bladder, yin and lower limbs, etc.), such as swelling of yin, itching of yin, yin sweating, drenching of urination or yellow odor of women’s diarrhea, etc. Evidence of deficiency and coldness in the spleen and stomach and deficiency of yin and hyperactivity of yang are not suitable.
