The main symptom of head meridian blockage is pain in the head, usually stabbing pain. The tongue may show ecchymosis and petechiae, or hemiplegia. According to Chinese medicine theory, “if you don’t get through, you get pain”. Therefore, if the meridians are blocked, the main symptom is pain. The most common cause of blocked meridians in the head is blood stasis. The pain caused by blood stasis in the head meridian blockage is stabbing pain, while blood stasis on the tongue is characterized by purple or petechiae on the tongue. If blood stasis clogs the blood vessels, hemiplegia may occur, manifesting as motor dysfunction in half of the limbs, which may also be accompanied by sensory dysfunction, unilateral crookedness of the corners of the mouth, salivation (drooling), and so on. Patients with head meridian blockage should maintain a normal routine in their daily life, try not to stay up late and get enough sleep.
