Conjunctival laxity and wrinkling in the eyes is usually not reversible on its own, and patients may be able to improve their eye discomfort with surgical treatment. Conjunctival laxity and wrinkling is usually caused by aging factors and is called conjunctival laxity, which is usually difficult to recover from on its own. Mild cases of conjunctival laxity usually do not affect the function of the patient’s eyes, but severe cases of conjunctival laxity can cause a foreign body sensation in the patient’s eyes and may build up near the tear ducts, blocking the tear ducts and causing the patient to experience tearing. There is no medication available to tighten the conjunctiva back up, but if it is causing discomfort, surgery can be performed to remove the conjunctiva and improve the discomfort. Patients with significant conjunctival laxity are advised to seek medical attention to evaluate their condition and follow their doctor’s instructions.
