Ebola virus is a non-segmented, single-stranded, negative-stranded RNA virus belonging to the family of filoviruses.
The current FDA-approved Ebola drug is the monoclonal antibody Ebanga, which can be used to treat Ebola virus infection in adults and children. Its safety and efficacy were evaluated in a multicenter, open-label, randomized controlled trial called PLAM. However, there are no data or relevant clinical studies on herbal medicines for the treatment of Ebola.
