How to tell if a pituitary tumor is benign

The gold standard of pituitary tumor examination is pathological biopsy to determine its benign or malignant nature, followed by symptoms and imaging examination to determine its benign or malignant nature.
Pituitary tumors are tumors originated from adenopituitary gland, most of them are benign, and their main manifestations are symptoms of pituitary tumor compression and hormone secretion abnormality. It is mainly treated by surgery, medication and radiotherapy.
The most accurate way to determine whether it is benign or malignant is pathologic biopsy. Secondly, it can also be examined by imaging. Benign pituitary tumors are generally small in size, clearly demarcated from the surrounding tissues, and grow slowly. On the other hand, malignant pituitary tumor grows faster in size, and it is easy to spread and invade the surrounding tissues, and the boundary with the surrounding tissues is not clear.
It is recommended that patients with pituitary tumors should consult a doctor in a timely manner, and be actively diagnosed and treated under the doctor’s guidance. The vast majority of pituitary tumors are benign, and most of them can be controlled by active treatment and do not affect life and work, so patients do not need to worry too much.
