Fourteen times of radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal cancer is generally not recommended to stop radiotherapy, but the specific number of times of radiotherapy needs to be combined with individual situation. Nasopharyngeal cancer is a kind of malignant tumor occurring in mucosal epithelium of nasopharynx, which is one of the common malignant tumors in China, mainly related to viral infection, environment, diet and other factors. As most of nasopharyngeal cancer belongs to squamous cancer, which is moderately sensitive to radiotherapy, the number of conventional radiotherapy is usually maintained at about 30 times, with irradiation dose of 60-65Gy, which can achieve relatively satisfactory therapeutic effect. Therefore, fourteen times of radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal cancer is generally not recommended to stop radiotherapy, so as not to lead to poor therapeutic effect and affect survival time. However, the specific number of radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal cancer also needs to be selected according to the severity of individual’s condition, and there exists certain individual variability, which cannot be generalized. Patients are advised to avoid smoking, drinking and other health hazardous behaviors, and consult the doctor in time if they have any uncomfortable symptoms during radiotherapy.
