Cuscuta is pungent, sweet and neutral in nature. It belongs to the liver, kidney and spleen meridians. It can tonify the liver and kidney, consolidate semen and urine, prevent random leakage, stabilize the fetus, brighten the eyes and stop diarrhea; externally, it can eliminate wind and dispel spots. It is used for deficiency of the liver and kidney, soreness and weakness of the waist and knees, impotence and spermatorrhea, urination and frequent urination, fetal leakage due to deficiency of the kidney (small amount of vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy), restlessness of the fetus, dizziness of the eyes and ringing in the ears, deficiency and diarrhea of the spleen and kidneys; and externally, to treat vitiligo.
