How should constipation be treated?

Temporary constipation may be caused by physiological factors such as improper diet, and long-term constipation may be caused by physiological factors such as poor defecation habits, or pathological factors such as rectal prolapse and colon cancer, both of which can be treated by means of general treatment, medication such as keserol and lactulose, and surgery.
1. Temporary constipation: If over-eating spicy and stimulating food or sweating sweat more, it may cause insufficient water and liquid in the intestines and dysfunction, thus the symptom of constipation appears. Patients are advised to drink more water, eat more high-fiber food, or use drugs such as Keserol and lactulose for treatment.
2. Long-term constipation:
(1) Physiological factors: if the patient often stay up late at night, poor defecation habits, the habit of holding stools, etc., will also lead to constipation. Patients need to be asked to regular routine, relax, go to the toilet in time when you have the urge to go to the toilet, and develop good defecation habits, long-term constipation will gradually improve.
(2) Rectal prolapse: If the patient suffers from rectal prolapse, it will lead to difficulty in emptying the rectum, which will lead to the symptoms of constipation. Surgery can be performed, such as rectal suspension and fixation. If the patient is old and weak, he/she can simply perform anal loop shrinkage, sigmoid stoma, etc.
(3) Colon cancer: If patients suffer from colon cancer, the tumor may block the intestines, and at the same time constantly stimulate the vegetative nerves in the intestines, thus leading to intestinal dysfunction and constipation. Treatment is mainly based on surgical resection, such as right hemicolectomy and transverse colon resection.
If there is no improvement after adjusting the lifestyle and bowel habits, it is recommended to go to a specialized hospital in time.
