Are adnexal cysts dangerous?

Uterine adnexal cysts are generally not harmful if they are physiologic, but if they are pathologic, they need to be taken seriously. Physiologic cysts are usually follicular cysts or corpus luteum cysts, which are usually caused by cyclic ovulation of the ovaries and usually do not cause obvious harm to the body, so they can be observed for the time being. Physiologic cysts usually appear in the middle and late menstruation, and will become smaller or disappear after menstruation. If the cyst is pathologic, such as ovarian cyst, mucinous cystadenoma, plasma cystadenoma, etc., this kind of cyst may rupture or torsion of the cyst, and the patient will suffer from severe abdominal pain, and the rupture may also lead to pelvic infection, causing acute pelvic inflammatory disease. Patients are advised to go to the hospital after the menstrual period for another examination, and if the cyst is pathologic, it is recommended to take timely treatment.
