Does pitavastatin affect your sleep?

Pitavastatin does not affect sleep and may be a cause of poor sleep due to other factors.
Pitavastatin is a statin drug, which can reduce plasma LDL concentration by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase in human body; it can also inhibit the process of cholesterol synthesis in human hepatocytes, which reduces the synthesis of plasma total triglycerides, therefore, pitavastatin is suitable for hyperlipidemia and familial hypercholesterolemia.
Adverse effects of pitavastatin can be gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, etc.; it can also cause patients to experience temporary reactions such as skin flushing, headache and insomnia; occasionally, serum aspartate aminotransferase and creatine kinase are seen to be elevated.
The use of pitavastatin should be contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to statin components and prior allergies, in patients with severe liver disease or biliary tract occlusion, in patients taking cyclosporine, and in women who are pregnant or preparing for pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Pitavastatin should be taken under the guidance of a doctor and should not be adjusted on its own; if poor sleep occurs during the course of taking it, it should be explained to the doctor in time to find out the cause of poor sleep so as not to delay the condition.
