It is generally recommended that hypertensive patients should not eat 1~2 hours before going to bed at night, and should pay attention to reduce sodium and fat intake. Eating before going to bed is easy to increase body weight, while the burden on the gastrointestinal tract is increased, resulting in the heart to strengthen the contraction of blood supply, which will further increase the patient’s blood pressure. The diet of hypertensive patients is generally to reduce sodium (daily salt per person to no more than 6g appropriate), reduce fat intake (reduce cooking oil intake, eat less or even do not eat fat meat and animal offal), supplement potassium (eat more fruits and vegetables every day). In addition to the necessary medication, hypertensive patients should quit smoking and drinking, increase exercise, reduce mental stress, and take folic acid supplements as prescribed by the doctor if necessary.
