What is the normal method to stop bleeding from small arteries and veins?

In general life bleeding after injury to small arteries or veins has different patterns, while bleeding from small arteries is mainly intermittent jet bleeding, while bleeding from veins is mainly blood gushing out from the wound. In case of emergencies either small artery or small vein bleeding can be firstly stopped by using acupressure method by pressing the finger on the proximal end of the artery or distal end of the vein to stop the bleeding. Secondly, after stopping the bleeding, the hemostasis can be stopped by filling the wound with a stuffing such as gauze, or by wrapping the wound with pressure, that is, using a dressing or bandage to put pressure on the bleeding area to stop the bleeding, or by using a tourniquet to stop the bleeding in an emergency.
