Dry and itchy eyes and other discomforts in summer may be caused by dry eye, seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, blepharitis and so on.
1. Dry eye: Dry eye is mostly caused by autoimmune diseases, vitamin A deficiency, lack of sleep and other factors, patients may have dry eyes, itchy, conjunctival congestion and other discomfort, but also blurred vision and other symptoms. Because of the hot weather in summer, it may aggravate the patient’s eye discomfort.
2. Allergic conjunctivitis: Allergic conjunctivitis can be caused by contact with allergens such as pollen and willow floss, which may cause burning sensation, photophobia, itchy eyes and other symptoms, which may be aggravated by the high temperature environment.
3. Blepharitis: Blepharitis can be caused by poor hygiene habits, and patients may experience discomfort such as burning and stinging sensations in the eyes. If blepharitis occurs in the summer, the patient may also experience dry, itchy eyes.
