What is the difference between true myopia and pseudomyopia?

The essential difference between true myopia and pseudo-myopia is whether the eye axis is elongated or not. True myopia is a condition in which the eye has elongated after excessive eye use and has undergone substantial and irreversible changes. The eye will not recover and will only get longer, not shorter, and can only be treated as slowly as possible. Pseudomyopia, on the other hand, is a spasm of the ciliary muscle caused by excessive use of the eye, especially when there is too much near vision. In this case, the muscle is unable to relax even when looking at a distance, creating the same state as myopia. If you order ciliary muscle relaxation drops or reduce eye use, the muscles will relax again and return to the state they were in before myopia, which means that pseudomyopia is completely reversible. However, pseudomyopia can often further cause true myopia and is often a precursor to true myopia.
